Evergreen Terrace – Losing All Hope is Freedom (2001)

The beginning of one of the biggest sleeper metalcore bands that persisted through despite constant label changes and whatnot. If you love the raw and underproduced sound that a lot of pre-2003 metalcore releases had at the time, you can’t go wrong with this. They still sound very youthful here, and they’d eventually develop on their sound on their countless releases following this, but this does what it does splendidly with sincere passion. Quite great for a band named after the Simpson’s home street, and this was just the start of their mostly overshadowed career.

RIYL: Nodes of Ranvier, (old) Poison the Well, Remembering Never, hell, any melodic metalcore album pre-Alive or Just Breathing
