This Australian post-hardcore group had quite a start to their developing career, and Heartbound proves this well. While it’s nothing groundbreaking, it’s done so well that I don’t give a shit about trivial details like that.
This was back when they were a six-piece, featuring original clean vocalist Michael McLeod, and with this album, there is far more electronic influence that anything afterwards. With that said, it’s a fun post-hardcore with metalcore riffs andbreakdowns, vocal trade offs and effective synths. If that doesn’t sway your attention, then this is obvious not your thing. However, while they don’t reinvent the wheel, they reinforce it and keep it rolling.
